The Height of Lights Above a Pool Table

The World Pool-Billiard Association recommends that the minimum height to hang a pool table light is 40 inches above the tablecloth. This provides enough height that the light should cover the table area. 

The height of the lights above a snooker table really depends on the size of the table you have. If you have a smaller table, the minimum height of the lights should be about 34 inches above the bed of the table.

If you’re playing billiards, pool or snooker on a larger table, you should raise the light higher to ensure that light covers a wider area. Snooker table lights should not be too high above the table, as they are only used to light the playing surface, as opposed to brightening the room around it.

Installing Pool Table Lights

As with many of our pendant lights, our antique snooker table lights are delicate and are hanging from a pendant bar which needs to be fitted safely and correctly to avoid damage and injury. We recommend asking a qualified electrician to fit the light fixture.
