Brass was an extremely popular metal for furniture and decor in the Victorian period, and it still is today. The Victorians liked using brass because it has a unique set of properties: it’s able to be easily worked into ornate designs, it’s durable, and it’s corrosion-resistant. 

There are also various different brass colours, which are dependant on the amount of weighting of metals in the alloy that produces Brass. Brass is predominantly a mixture of copper and zinc. For example, a more gold-coloured brass lamp would be an alloy of 75% copper and 25% zinc, but a brass with a more reddish bronze colour would have a lower percentage of zinc.

What size Brass Table Lamp? 

Size is important when choosing your lamp, too small and it will disappear in your decor, too large and it can become cumbersome. The advice we always give in our UK store is to follow the eyes. The best size for a brass table lamp would be where the bottom of the shade is dominantly at eye level, so if next to a sofa, make sure the bottom of the shade is no higher than where you would be comfortably sitting.
