Art Deco & Modernist Designers
There were many well-regarded early 20th-century designers that produced influential art deco lighting designs, such as Franta Anyz, the Daum brothers, René Lalique, and Jean Perzel. All of these designers have since inspired modern lighting companies to reproduce these lighting designs.
Modern Lighting companies such as Interiors 1900 have produced a range of traditional and timeless lighting designs from the early 1900s. This includes our range of art deco-era chandeliers.
Art Deco Chandelier Finishes
Brass & Bronze
For the Victorian-period designers and even today’s manufacturers, brass is an extremely popular metal to use in furnishings and lighting, due to its durability, resistance to corrosion, and ability to easily worked into complex designs.
We have a huge variety of brass chandeliers that replicate the look and feel of an antique ceiling light.
Chrome & Nickel
Despite brass and gold being an ever-present popular finish, the art deco movement also popularised interior designs using chrome and glass. In the mid-1920s, chrome plating took off thanks to its shiny silver appearance and durability.
Most of our art deco-style chandeliers feature glass shades with frosted glass. Our chandeliers also come in downlighters and uplighters, depending on whether you prefer the light to be cast on the floor, or spread across the ceiling.
