A picture light is a classic but beautiful way to illuminate your wall art or photographs. Artwork can be the feature that completes the design of a room, so using accent lighting will ensure the piece is sufficiently well-lit and able to be fully appreciated.

Our picture wall lights come in a variety of styles, sizes and finishes including brass, chrome and nickel as well as a choice of bulb fittings. As well as artwork, picture lamps are also perfectly suitable for brightening a dark corner of your living room or creating a bright purpose light above a mirror or a desk.

Antique Style Picture Lights

Recreate the look and feel of a stately period home with gallery walls with a traditional picture light. Our antique brass picture lights look and feel exactly as they would have done in the Victorian period they are inspired by. Protect Artwork and Photos

Valuable photographs, paintings and artwork can be damaged by heat and UV or infrared light, so keeping them out of direct sunlight and away from older incandescent bulbs is important. All of our wall art lights, including our traditional styles, are intended for use with modern LEDs, which do not get hot or release damaging light rays.

How To Position Picture Lighting

Your picture light should be positioned centrally directly above the picture, so that picture receives an even distribution of light. The light should be angled at around 30 degrees so that you don’t get glare from the frame. The light should also be around half as wide as the width of the picture.

Many of the photo lamps we stock have adjustable arms, which can be angled however you wish.

The colour of the bulb will also affect how the picture will look under the light. A LED bulb with a colour temperature of between 3,500k - 2,700K is best for picture lights. This will provide a warm white light that will give the best visual representation of the work.
